Three ways to roll up your sleeves
Find a place that fits the day you’ve got.
Most volunteer mahi happens at our home base in Avondale. Choose a programme below to see open shifts.

Kai Sorting
Mon – Fri
Help sort fresh fruit, vegetables and pantry goods rescued from across Tāmaki Makaurau, then pack them into kai boxes that go straight to our network of 70 recipient groups.

Conscious Kitchen
Tues – Thurs
Roll up your sleeves to turn surplus ingredients into beautiful meals. Whether you're a retired chef or a home cook, there's a place for you at the bench.

Inclusive Volunteering
We modify tasks, allow support people to come along, and welcome groups like the Young Onset Dementia Collective Two4Nine We arrange these sessions directly with your group, tell us what you need when you get in touch.
Warehouse Assistant
Mon
You will unload the truck and assist with weighing and sorting rescued food. This is for those who have completed the Skills Programme or volunteered with us before.
Built for every body
Inclusive volunteering, in practice — not just on the website.
We modify tasks, allow support people to come along, and welcome groups like the Young Onset Dementia Collective every Monday. We arrange these sessions directly with your group — tell us what you need when you get in touch. There’s nearly always a way.
